Hundreds of holiday-makers at Birmingham Airport have been evacuated .
Fire crews were sent to the busy international airport at around 2pm on Sunday June 23 after fire alarms were sounded.
People described the scene as 'chaos' as they were forced out onto the tarmac next to the planes whilst awaiting news as to what was going on.
There were reports on Twitter that the 'whole airport had been evacuated' - BirminghamLive is awaiting confirmation on this from airport officials.
Others were concerned that they were not being let out of the emergency exits despite calls for an evacuation.
One said: "They are so disorganized it’s a joke they need to sort the communication out it took them at least 20minz after the fire alarm went off to tell us all we needed to leave then when we left it was even worse as they didn't know what they was doing or where they were taking us they need to train staff better.... we are all now sat by an aeroplane not knowing anything at all."
