Middlesbrough are back in for Brighton's Jeremy Sarmiento as they look to hijack Birmingham's deal for the attacking midfielder.
They have returned to the negotiating table after Birmingham agreed a permanent transfer with Brighton for Sarmiento.
Nothing has been agreed between Boro and Brighton at this stage but the Championship club are back in talks over a permanent deal.
Boro had previously held talks with Brighton before Birmingham advanced on a deal to sign Sarmiento
